Two days of wooden stalls, twinkling lights and local makers, right off the highway. Come in the afternoon to shop, or stay until dark when the whole market glows.
Getting there
West side of the QE2 (Highway 2), just north of the Olds overpass. Watch for the lights and wooden stalls from the highway. Parking is free, right on site.

Before you head out
Admission is free for everyone. Everything is outdoors, so dress for an Alberta December: layers, warm boots, mitts and a toque. Vendors take cash only, so stop at the bank on your way. Please leave pets at home, as they are not allowed on site.

What to expect
A traditional market, right here in Central Alberta
Inspired by the Christmas markets of Germany, our Weihnachtsmarkt brings old world holiday charm to the prairies. Stroll between wooden stalls, find handmade gifts and soak in the season with the whole family.

Lights, garland, greenery and holiday sparkle from noon until well after dark.

Gifts, crafts, baking and seasonal treats from makers across Alberta.

Bring the kids, the grandparents and the neighbours. Fun for every age.

Bring your stall to the Weihnachtsmarkt
We are looking for vendors who fit the spirit of a traditional German Christmas market: handmade gifts, crafts, decor, baking, preserves, seasonal food and treats. Food trucks are welcome too!
Have your own wooden hut? You are welcome to bring it. Just mention it in your application so we can arrange a spot for it.

It is German for Christmas market. These outdoor markets are a centuries old holiday tradition in Germany, full of wooden stalls, lights, gifts and warm treats.
Does it cost anything to get in?
No! Admission is free and so is parking.
Is the market indoors or outdoors?
Outdoors. Please dress for Alberta weather in December.
Can I pay with card?
No, this is a cash only event. Please bring cash with you.

Sorry, pets are not allowed at the market. Please leave them at home.

Absolutely. This is a family event and everyone is welcome.
Does this happen every year?
